Hunter
I wake up early the next morning. I know Tessa and I still need to talk about yesterday. I wanted to get everything out in the open last night, but she was flat out exhausted, and after I flipped the fuck out searching for her, I just needed to hold her. Sex wasn’t needed, I think we both just needed a deeper level of intimacy than physical.
Leaving Tessa sleeping in my bed, I hop out to take a quick shower. As soon as the hot, steamy water hits my tense muscles, I toss away the idea of that fast shower. I stand, hands bracing the wall, head down, and take in the pleasurable heat of the water beating down on my skin.
I’m soaking it in while at the same time trying to collect all of my scattered thoughts. So lost in my head that I don’t even hear the shower door open as Tessa steps in. It isn’t until she’s stepped up behind me and wrapped her arms around my waist.
No words are spoken. We simply stand there embracing each other. I turn after a few minutes, and we take turns washing each other’s bodies off. After we’ve finished, we both step out, I wrap her in a towel then do the same to myself.
Once we’re both dressed, we head silently to the kitchen for our morning fuel, or as normal people call it, coffee. Tessa and I both are addicted to it, she's the only person I know that can rival my daily dose of it.
We each make our cups, then sit across from each other at the kitchen table. Although we haven't spoken, the silence isn't awkward or tense, the air between us is amicable. This gives me hope. I know I have the most explaining and apologizing to do, all she did was split when she got upset. I, on the other hand, have brought baby momma drama into this relationship. So it's only fair that I should be the one to start.
She's staring into her coffee cup, seemingly lost in her thoughts, I clear my throat to get her attention.
"Hmph." It's enough to snap her eyes up to mine, and that throat clearing is as far as this conversation has gone in my head. “Look,” deep breath in, and let it out slowly. “I know I said sorry last night, but I just want..."
I'm cut off by Tessa, "Stop Hunter. We're okay, really." The look in her eyes tells me this isn't some sort of ploy, she being honest. "As long as you're not mad at me for running out like I did."
I shake my head back and forth for a moment before saying how I feel. "I understand why you left, I can see how you were upset by the situation. Do I wish you would've talked to me? Yes. Am I mad? No." I pull one of her hands off her coffee mug and wrap mine around her fingers. "I wanna talk to you
